Portrait of Vth Wheel

Family History : Born in middle class farmer’s family of Rural Bihar. Grandfather and uncle were   veteran Gandhian and committed freedom fighter. Father is also a well educated Gandhian Social activist of his own right. He has close association with the living family members of Mahatma Gandhi and spent a long time at Seva Gram as Acharya of Nai Talim. The legacy influenced the Baby Prakash.

Childhood : As a toddler Om Prakash found himself in Khandi Gram, the best possible centre of learning Gandhian Constructive Work. Here he played in the laps of Dhinerdra Majumdar (Dhirenda) and Acharya Rammurty. Barely did he grow out of the baby lips, when he began to join the luminary Vinoba Bhave in his yatra.  Youth : Revolutionaries such as Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan and his comrades channelized the mischiefs of young Om Prakash. He was very intimately attached to the
family of great leader and which gave an opportunity to learn from many other socio-political leader of his time.

Turning Point : Like many other young graduates of his time Om Prakash also aspired to become a bureaucrat. He got success also in his attempts but two eminent Gandhians, viz Dr. Radhakrishna jee and Mr. Krishanswamy influenced the budding bureaucrat so much that he becomes part of Gandhi Yuva Biradari. He met innumerable Gandhians and development philosophers through his childhood, but these two influenced him to an extent to transform his life. In Sevagram Om also came under the influence of Nirmala Mataji (Daughter-in-law) of Gandhi jee and Madalsa Bajaj (Daughter of Seth
Jamnalal Bajaj). These two great ladies gave maternal love to the embryonic development actor. After spending time with them the philosophy of Gandhi was no more a reading material for him but it become more Dadi-Nani ki Kahani.

Career:  Started his career as technocrat and was more known as ‘Water Diviner’ or ‘International Latrine Man’ in his first phase of life, visited many countries as a person of Environmental Sanitation. Again his life took a turn when he was asked by Radhakrishana ji to stop his foreign visits and surrender his passport. After 1995 he went abroad only twice, that too after seeking permission from Kamala Amma (Wife of Radhkrishna Ji). Advice of Radhakrishna ji was more realistically felt and realized by OP (Popularly known) during a film making in Bihar. He felt the need of his presence for the native and increased his activities in Bihar (Joint Bihar) Worked closely with over 25 organizations. The international exposure and grass root experience helped some of these organizations to reach the height. This In last one decade he becomes icon of Panchayat. Agencies changed but the task and work remain same for him. Publication of his efforts has been another remarkable dimension of his life. He has been contributing to the newspapers as a responsible citizen, reflecting on the development programme and policies of government besides bringing to the light the impact of interventions in rural development. His articles have appeared in the scientific journals in India and abroad. He was given a title of Vth wheel of the vehicle by his mentor and he proved him right.
